                                                                                            BILLY LAMONT’S NEW BOOK OF POETRY – PERIPHERAL VIEW: SOUL SONGS FOR THE STROBE LIGHT GENERATION 2020-2025 – TO BE RELEASED FOR THE HOLIDAYS

 Billy Lamont is a NY based American poet, an experimental multimedia performance poet, recording artist, and spoken word artist, with a reformer spirit, and an international reach. He has been interviewed and featured on national television a number of times, and he has toured and performed multiple dates as part of Lollapalooza Festival for three different years.

Lamont’s new book of poems,  peripheral view: soul songs for the strobe light generation 2020-2025 is a powerful companion and successor to Lamont’s earlier above ground poetry collections: The Gallery Of Light, strobe light generation, and Words Ripped From A Soul Still Bleeding: Poems For The Future Edition, and to his most acclaimed albums and EPs : Into The 21st Century, billy lamont with the peculiar people, the gallery of light, and Beyond Babylon. 

Lamont said, “peripheral view: soul songs for the strobe light generation, was selected from the black leather journal I carried with me from 2020-2025, and is now woven into a long stream-of-consciousness poem and book. This book begins just before the COVID-19 pandemic and continues through today, amid global debates about digital identity systems.” Lamont writes from his own perspective and convictions about these developments, expressing concerns about future control, loss of freedom, and the fate of the “We The People,” citizens of the world.

This new work gathers poems, scribblings, witty proverbs, song lyrics, and prose that move with a creation-flow filled with life, hope, and love—searching for truth, letting down walls, and stepping forward in vulnerability and faith. Lamont writes about everyday survival, often perceiving life from the corner of his eye, saving impressions to process later. With an electric guitar in hand, his subconscious would sometimes surface in sudden, focused bursts—psalm-like hymns, integrity-filled punk songs, or playful alternative and classic-rock moments written quickly and instinctively.

From the beginnings of his career, the brilliant and inspirational Mike Peters of The Alarm and Allen Ginsberg showed love and support for Lamont’s work by collaborating on the title track of his first album Into The 21st Century, that was a benefit for Teen Challenge, and that contained an audio sample of an early Ginsberg recital of his legendary Beat Generation epic poem Howl. 

Lamont was awarded a Guinness World Record for his poetry performance contribution to a benefit song for Love Hope Strength Foundation and those fighting cancer, that was recorded by LHS Co-Founder Mike Peters of The Alarm in 2014, and was the ‘longest officially released song ever.’ This song titled The Scriptures was written as a seed of peace for Muslims, Christians and Jews in The Holy Land.

“Soulful art, spirituality and community, as opposed to divisiveness and alienation, is so important in these tumultuous times, that are also ripe with potential. I plan on using my voice to bring faith, love and peace to all people inclusively to the best of my ability, with all my strength, by God’s grace!,” Lamont concluded.

Like a holy outlaw, Lamont stands as an outsider—a critical thinker with a fertile imagination, a passionate soul with a vision of a very different JESUS than many have known. RIP ROBERT PEARSON (also known as R.S PEARSON) a truly rare genius of a Writer (largely under appreciated and less well known than deserved so far,) Founder of VIRTUISM ART PHILOSOPHY/Movement, brilliant innovative MUSICIAN who was combining his classical music creations with electronic music on the underground & in zines during early electronic music that he called REGENERATIVE MUSIC. Robert was a pure soul that I was honored to have as a REAL FRIEND & CARING HUMAN as a genuine follower of Lord JESUS, who did a lot for the homeless in Seattle in action and in groundbreaking vision quietly, & some that can still be realized with alive Faith In Action. Robert also privately was a part of a prayer line/chat group that faithfully prayed for & ministered to many, many people, and that I am grateful also prayed for Me and my son Zion’s well being many times & will always be appreciated by me. Robert & I would have many deep spontaneous conversations through the years about art, faith, JESUS & possibilities of new spiritual revival now, & the problems of the hungry & homeless. Some of these conversations he would record (a few surfaced here and there at times on the web) or he would say afterwards i wish i taped this conversation, so much insight and life on so many levels. I will always miss Robert’s companionship even though he has lived. in Seattle these last years. This kind of companionship and fellowship is very rare for me, sort of like how it was with the late Larry Norman most times when I was younger. I met Robert in Huntington NY at a poetry reading in 1995 & we became good friends. Robert left to live in Seattle where he also had roots when younger, being friends and attending parties with members of Soundgarden even being at Nirvana’s first performance at a house party. Robert is a one of a kind Follower Of JESUS, the Real Deal, & his empathetic, intelligent writings point to JESUS in practical ways like helping homeless people gain skills to gain work and independent living spaces for better lives. Also deeply analyzed aspects of Christian living with unexplored psychological insights. Even his poetry was in a league of ot’s own like A Season In Heaven passed through his pen in brilliance, similar to Arthur Rimbaud’s one of a kind stream-of consciousness French Surrealism A Season In Hell flowed with new genius. Thera is so much to say about Robert Pearson. Some may know him from my dedication to R.S. Pearson in my poem “self interview/self portrait (a post modern dada) also as a poem song of same title. So much to say but let’s leave it here for now – Well Done! & I Salute You

I found out just before Thanksgiving Day my loved longtime friend Robert Pearson traveled home into eternity on . September 19th. I was grateful to know because it was a big shock of sadness just prior to going to work my overnight shift, & the next morning was Thanksgiving Day & usually I talk to Robert on the telephone on Thanksgiving Day for many years, and it was helpful to know before calling him & missing him. I last talked to him by text on Labor Day September 1st & he was healthy and in good spirits. A few days ago It was shared with me that he had a heart attack a week or two before September 19th and Robert never shared this with me, so that must have been more than an unanticipated health challenge. If anyone has any more info to share about our friend ROBERT’s passing (I know he recently visited a loved sister) & it is appropriate please share it with me privately by DM. I imagine he must have traveled to bis new home in eternity from complications from the heart attack. IDK. Just know he is in new home in eternity with Father YHWH, Lors JESUS & THE HOLY SPIRIT. LOVE
