BILLY LAMONT with his “bullhorn of truth” at the Save Our Cinema Protest on last Saturday! Lamont said “this bullhorn of justice sheds light on darkness” as spitting some of his spontaneous verse into the bullhorn as leading some chants at the Save Our Cinema Protest!

The Save Our Cinema Protest is to reinstate Cinema Arts Centre founding family member DYLAN SKOLNIK to the Board after being senselessly ousted from the Board, and his reputation being inhumanely smeared recently.

I was honored to join the 300 wonderful film/art lover everyday “We The People” community in the – SAVE OUR CINEMA Protest – in support of DYLAN SKOLNIK a few hours ago! CIMEMA ARTS CENTRE & it’s Founding Members the late VIC SKOLNIK and CHARLOTTE SKY, along with their son DYLAN SKOLNIK, have been & are a huge part of independent film and Long Island Art Community for many, many years & it is appalling to me that CINEMA ART CENTRE’s new Board have the poison gall to oust DYLAN inhumanely from the Board of His Families’ & His Legacy… & while cruelly smearing his great character with unjust accusations!!! I was honored to spontaneously lead Protest chants of “Save Our Cinema” in my bullhorn as sometimes reciting improv new poetry flowing from me, along with lines from protestor’s witty protest signs, as people driving by on Park Ave were honking their horns in a chorus of support for the protest!!! Everyday good people using their voices soulfully for what matters to their Long Island home community in Huntington, NY today (saturday) was beautiful to behold!!! ❤ ❤ ❤

CINEMA ARTS CENTRE: One of Long Island’s most important and revered cultural institutions is in danger.

We (members, friends and cinema supporters) are outraged that the Cinema Arts Centre Board is making reckless decisions that have thrown this treasured arts organization into chaos.

The decision to fire long time CAC Co-Director Dylan Skolnick without cause, then smear his reputation with vague innuendo, is unforgivable. Dylan has dedicated his entire adult life to the CAC and has played the prime role in growing it into an internationally respected cinema.
